Paraguay

HAYYYYYY!! Today I am writing from my home away from Home...Paraguay. I didn{t think that the love I had for these people or this place was still alive in my heart. But it is... I haven{t stopped enjoying the people and this place since I{ve come. I love the way the body of Christ is dedicated to prayer. The way we all sit around after dinner playing the guitar and talking. The smiles and hugs...makes me want to stay for ever. I am really greatful to God to give me time with my beautiful Paraguayan family.
Since I have been here I have seen the answers to my prayers many, many years ago. It is so awesome to see what God has done in this place. Ps. 127 is what comes to mind during this time.
1 When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed.
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."
3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
4 Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him

He is soooooooo faithful. I know he is able to make true even the smallest dreams.

My Rock

This is a picture of LA ROCA( the place I was able to stay at for a week). La Roca means the rock in Spanish.

The last day of our trip Kristi and I went to the beach and had our quite times. I LOVE THE BEACH!! God just reminded me while I was there the little I was and the big he was. He is the ROCK. I can depend on him. I can draw my strength from him. He is sure when I am not.

Ps. 18:1-2--

1 I love you, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. Posted by Picasa

What I’ve learned so far…flash backs from Japan

I have been going about 90 miles an hour that I haven’t had time with Internet access to write my concluding thoughts for the Japan trip. …

One of the prayers of our leader while we were there was “that God would show us his love in the besieged city. “ I truly believe that he did that for my life. Even the very first night when I was upset and went to asleep with out hope he was faithful to change in my heart something through a dream that I never thought possible. He even allowed me to see the partial fulfillment of it the very next day. I saw God’s love in the everyday details (just like Debbie prayed) that I so often over look. In small things like allowing me to have my quite time near a bay (I am addicted to large bodies of water). In giving Rebecca and I such a wonderful host mother who dedicated her mornings and evenings to feed us, talk to us and shower us with gifts. I see God’s love in the time I was able to share with Rebecca the times of prayer for other team members, and our heart to heart conversations. I saw God’s love in the way He includes me in his purposes even when I fight it/ don’t agree with it. I saw God’s love in the way He gives me grace, for using my weaknesses, for answering my prayers, for delivering me from my fears (I could go on and on about this great big wonderful God). If I could summarize the trip in one word it would be ENJOY!! I enjoyed my time with old and new friends/ I enjoyed experience life…even the hard things of the trip….I enjoyed my time with God…I enjoyed Japan…I enjoyed its culture, its food, its crowded trains…its differentness than America…I enjoyed pelicula(sp?)…so many more things that time fails me to tell. Here are some key verses that I meditated on the trip and continue to do so when life gets crazy…

Ps. 111:1-2

“Hallelujah! I give thanks to God with everything I’ve got-Whereever good people gather, and in the congregation. God’s works are so great, worth A life time of study---ENDLESS ENJOYMENT.” I want to spend all of my days thinking about and delighting in the lover of my soul.

This reminds me that God enjoys me. He wants me not just my actions. He wants my heart. Oh just to be. Just to stand and admire his beauty!! Ps. 106:4 “Remember me, God when you enjoy your people; include me when you save them.”

Let the Little Children come unto me

Kristi and Salomon

Me and Monica

Orlando and Gabi God has truly blessed my life this summer. He has allowed me the privilege of traveling to so many exciting places on of them being Tiajuana, Mexico. My friend Kristi and I were able to spend 4 short days helping out at La Roca, a place for abused women and children. These are the pictures of some of the children. Posted by Picasa

English Speaking Society

One of the biggest blessings on this trip was the ability to meet Japanese college students. Most of my small teams time was spent on the University of Sofia. We were especially blessed to be come in contact with our friends from the English Speaking Society. In Japan the easiest way on the college campus to meet people is through clubs. We were instantly connected with a large number of students because of our connection with Emme and Cheche. It was cool hanging out with them. We noticed that they were very hungry for the gospel they kept asking us questions. One day we talked with them for over an hour explaining who Jesus was and what one has to do to be come a Christian. It was very sad to leave those girls behind. Please pray that they will stay connected to Richard and others at the Kick Back Café.

Returned from Japan

Just to let you all know we have made it back to the US. A little later than we expected but we praise the Lord that we have made it. It is my prayer that the time spent in Japan will be a blessing to all and that Ps. 126 will be true about this trip: Psalm 126
A song of ascents.
1 When the LORD brought back the captives to [a] Zion, we were like men who dreamed. [b]
2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them."
3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
4 Restore our fortunes, [c] O LORD, like streams in the Negev.
5 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
6 He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.
So many times missions is this grand thing that only certain people experience I was reminded during this trip that mission is simply living your life for God where ever you are at. God uses the hard times so that in the end we can return with great joy. I believe that this is true on this trip. I can name so many things that I was worried about and stressed over before I went and one by one God gave me the grace I needed to get through each circumstance and relationship. I praise God for his faithfulness. I pray that you will join with us as we say among the nations the Lord has done great things for us!!
